Our American and Western European operators come from a variety of law enforcement and military backgrounds with a wide range of resources and experiences. BDS Operators are put through an exhaustive vetting process and are fully licensed and highly qualified to carry firearms. They undergo an extensive training program, which includes segments on weapon manipulation, combat medicine, STCW95, and United States Coast Guard accredited mariner courses.

Our insured and bonded Maritime Security Teams provide embarked organic security assets for vessels sailing through Gulf of Aden or Indian Ocean on deployments tailored to your needs — from discreet deployments suitable for small private vessels — to four-person uniformed deployments for use aboard the large commercial vessels, and finally to multi-team Quick Reaction Forces that can be stationed aboard offshore oil-platforms. We use legally purchased and licensed firearms built by hand for the rigors of the maritime environment. These weapons are purchased and registered in the United States and are fully ITAR compliant.

All of our teams deploy with a Use of Force doctrine and Response Continuum designed to balance the need to maintain an effective fence-line around your vessels, while adhering to the principles of self-defense. If requested, we can amend and adapt this continuum on a case-by-case basis to meet your wishes and those of the vessel’s crew. We do not rely solely on the use of firearms – we believe in a layered defense strategy, and we employ elements of BMP4 as an integral facet our use of force doctrine and response continuum.

We are able to provide Armed Escort Vessels through trusted sub-contractors for operations where embarked personnel may not be desirable. If you have a request for additional capabilities that we cannot provide, we are able to interface with a partner company to provide these additional services. We are continually exploring additional capabilities through industry partnerships, and we can adapt to any hurdle to accommodate your security needs.
