(1) I have a solid professional background and experience in security management, covering the last 12 years; (2) The countries where I have served as security manager are Angola (2000 – 2003), Guinea-Bissau (2003 - 2007), Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei (2007 – 2010), and Afghanistan (2011); (3) I know Africa very well, from my 10½ years of working in this continent. I have travelled widely in Africa and I have visited most countries in West, Central and North Africa; (4) I know Asia very well, from my 8½ years of living in Malaysia, where I was posted from 2007 to 2010 (in Kuala Lumpur), and lived as a teenager from 1977 to 1982 (in Kuching, Sarawak); (5) I know Latin America well, from my 12 years of living in this continent from 1965 to 1977, in Ecuador (my country of birth), Chile and Brazil; (6) The languages which I am proficient in are Swedish (my mother tongue), English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Bahasa Malaysia. I also have a basic command of the Russian language.
