Role Purpose:

• Prepare for and direct Crisis Management response across the Region at senior level.
• Design and implement an HBME Business Recovery strategy and ensure plans are in place, practiced and fit for purpose.
• Be prepared to support the physical security effort as part of the SFR security team.


Main Responsibilities

 

Impact on the business

By engaging with senior stakeholders (Country CEOs, Business Heads and Country SFR leads):
• Maintain a strategic overview of critical Middle East business processes
• Identify areas of risk
• Review how processes can be maintained in times of crisis


Customers / Stakeholders
Work with senior stakeholders (Country CEOs and Business Heads) to:
• Develop local plans tailored to business needs consistent with the Regional BC strategy.
• Co-ordinated BC plans with the Regional IT/Service Delivery strategy.
• Execute a test methodology, meeting Group requirements.


Leadership & Teamwork
• To inspire/motivate planning and preparatory work covering crisis and continuity activity.
• To exercise convincing leadership in crisis, usually in adverse circumstances


Operational Effectiveness and Control
• Maintain comprehensive records of testing activity.
• Satisfy FIM reporting requirements.
• Maintain and be responsible for the readiness of a Regional Crisis management & business continuity centre


Key Challenges
• To maintain a strong relationship with business heads, understanding all aspects of COMPANY  Regional business activity, so as to be able to form a considered view of where risk lies and where business recovery planning is necessary - and how best to provide it.


Skills
• Ability to command respect amongst seniors in times of crises.
• Have strong communication and coordination skills.
• To have considerable exposure to the Middle East, preferably with some Arabic speaking skills.
• Experience in the physical security field, preferably in the Middle East.
• To have IT knowledge/experience of core IT banking systems.
• To have well-developed general understanding of core banking functions and security systems.
• To have very good command of written English, sufficient for independent report writing.
