I am a graduate of Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Cambridge, and have just returned to the UK from Syria, where I lived for several years. During this time I worked as a research consultant specialising in economic and political development issues in the MENA region, whilst also undertaking freelance business journalism and translation work.
