The role is complicated. The advertising company is advising on / auditing / managing / coordinating the security for an oil and gas exploration project on the Horn of Africa. The project area is undergoing a low level insurgency.
They have been working there since Sep 06 and the situation is manageable with risks that can be mitigated as long as the local military are managed along with the community's expectations.
The role requires a politically astute Officer with a fair degree of experience out of the army, ideally in commercial security sector. Tact and diplomacy are essential as the security manager sits in a tricky position between two companies and the National Army. The consultant reports to to our client's corporate sy dept.
No requirement for SF type / superhero fitness just a healthy individual with good brain, bags of initiative, flexibility of thought and patience of a saint but with the moral courage to make a stand when required.
The slot will either run for a minimum single 6 week deployment 15 July to 30 Aug including a 1 week hand over / takeover.
However if consultant and the client are happy then he could make it permanent on a back to back basis with 4 weeks on 4 off for circa 18 months.
The role is paying a daily rate of $550 which is worth £10,000 approx per month worked. We provide BUPA medical insurance upto £5Mn and medevac back to Nairobi and onward to London / Jo'burg as appropriate.
All expenses are reimbursed and our company provides international air travel in economy class.
