In 1990, Kuwait was attacked and occupied for a period of 6 months, and many different types of mines were spread across the country.
A Kuwaiti Services Company is currently in the planning phase to undergo a major pipeline project by mid 2010.
In preparation for the pipeline works, the company is seeking to contract with a specialist EOD company in order to survey the pipeline route and locate any remaining ordinance that may have been missed by earlier survey works, prior to any excavation work.
The work is likely to cover a few hundred miles and is expected to take 18 to 24 months, for the South and West segment of the operation.
The contractor, located in Kuwait, is currently arranging the main leg works now, by contacting different specialized companies in a number of required disciplines in order to close the deals ahead of time.
They would like to hear from EOD service companies, and specifically those with experience of working in the Middle East in general, or in the Gulf region, particularly in Kuwait.
